# About PUTTLE ## What it is PUTTLE is a free daily pixel-art mini-golf puzzle — like Wordle for golf. You play it in any modern browser at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). There is no download and no account. Each local calendar day has one 5-hole course. The layout is seeded by the date, so every player on that date gets the same holes, the same par, and the same hazards. You slingshot-putt, bank off rails, read slopes, and try to finish at or under par. Then you can share a spoiler-free scorecard. Day #1 was June 1, 2026. From day 81 the daily is a park-style tour: five named hole silhouettes (dogleg, island, keyhole, and others) plus rotating worlds that play differently (carnival bumpers and windmills, enchanted mushrooms and spore gates, coastal ice and booms, royal marble and sliding gates, tropical lagoons and logs, treasure crates and carts), so the round feels like a walk through a mini-golf park rather than five copies of the same hole. The skill is line and pace. The aim line shows direction only. You judge power, banks, and when to leave a hazard alone. ## Wordle for golf People looking for a **Wordle for golf** or a **golf Wordle** want that daily ritual: one shared puzzle, a few minutes, a spoiler-free scorecard. PUTTLE is that daily with five pixel-art mini-golf holes instead of a five-letter word. It is not affiliated with Wordle or the New York Times. Drag back from the ball like a slingshot and release to putt. Pull farther for more power. Keyboard players can aim with the arrow keys, set power with **+** and **−**, and putt with **Space**. A round is five holes. Par is the target stroke count. Under par is better; over par is extra strokes; **E** means even (exactly par). Hazards are part of the puzzle: - **Rails and posts** — bank off them. - **Sand** — slows the ball. - **Ice** — the ball glides. - **Water** — a splash costs +1 stroke, then you replay from where you putted. - **Sloped greens** — curve the roll. - **Speed strips** — amber pads that accelerate the ball. You can undo your last putt. Optional gems (five per daily) never change your score; collecting all five on one daily unlocks the Sapphire ball. The daily is one official attempt. If you close the tab mid-round, a checkpoint keeps your place so you do not lose the course. Practice mode is unlimited and does not affect your streak — use it to learn the slingshot, then play the daily when you are ready. A new course appears at local midnight, when your calendar date changes. Everyone on that local date plays the same five holes. ## What’s free PUTTLE is completely free. You do not pay to play, and the Sapphire ball is earned in play, not bought. Optional one-time [tips](https://puttle.golf/support) help keep it little and free; they do not unlock anything. Google AdSense may show ads. Stats, streaks, and an in-progress daily live in the browser on your device. You can install PUTTLE as a progressive web app (PWA) for one-tap daily rounds, including Add to Home Screen on many phones — it is not an App Store or Google Play listing. You can pick a public display name (at most 16 characters); you still do not need an account. Friends groups use a shareable code and hold at most 50 players. After you hole out, one or two traces loop on that green as a gallery. The recap map shows their traces under yours after you finish. The board is for a casual daily: compare how you scored on today’s shared course, not a live match. ## What PUTTLE is not PUTTLE is not a golf simulator. It does not model real-world clubs, swing mechanics, or championship 18-hole golf. Holes are winding pixel-art putt-putt layouts, not aerial photography of a tour venue. It is not a golf-themed Wordle. Those games hide a five-letter word and score guesses like strokes. PUTTLE is slingshot putting. It is not multiplayer match play. You are not putting against another person on the same green in real time. You play the daily on your own, then compare afterward — on the honor-system board, in a friends group, or with a scorecard. Faint ghosts of other posted rounds may appear on the daily green; they are not live opponents. It is not a downloadable app store title you have to install before you can try it. The game is the website. Install the PWA if you want a home-screen icon; it is optional. It is not the physical **Puttle putting mat** — a home-practice kit with pins on a strip of turf. That product is unrelated. This PUTTLE is the daily pixel-art mini-golf puzzle at puttle.golf.
