# Install PUTTLE

PUTTLE is a free website, not an App Store or Google Play listing. Play at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/) in any modern browser. You can optionally **install it as a progressive web app (PWA)** so today’s course opens in one tap from your home screen.

## iPhone and iPad (Safari)

1. Open [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/) in **Safari** (Add to Home Screen is a Safari feature).
2. Tap the **Share** button.
3. Tap **Add to Home Screen**, then Add.

The PUTTLE icon appears on your home screen. It opens the same game, full screen, without the browser chrome.

## Android (Chrome)

1. Open [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/) in **Chrome**.
2. Open the Chrome menu.
3. Tap **Install app** or **Add to Home Screen**, then confirm.

If Chrome shows an install banner in PUTTLE, you can use that instead.

## Computer

In Chrome, Edge, or other Chromium browsers, look for an **install** icon in the address bar, or use the browser menu’s install / app command. PUTTLE can also prompt you to install after you play.

## After you install

Installing does not create an account. Stats still live in the browser on that device. You can turn on **Remind me daily** for one local notification a day, around 9am your local time — it is not sent through PUTTLE servers.

Because there is no server sending them, reminders can only wake a fully closed PUTTLE where the browser lets an installed app check in on its own: an installed PWA on Android or desktop Chromium (Chrome, Edge). In a browser tab, in Safari or Firefox, and on an iPhone home screen, the nudge arrives only while PUTTLE is open. The reminder button tells you which of those you are on rather than promising the same thing everywhere.

The daily course is generated on your device. After the first visit, the game can load without a network; the global leaderboard still needs a connection.

Uninstall the same way you remove any other home-screen app or PWA. Clearing the site’s data in the browser deletes local stats and streaks.
