# PUTTLE > PUTTLE is a free daily pixel-art mini-golf puzzle — like Wordle for golf — at https://puttle.golf. One 5-hole course per local calendar day, identical for every player. Browser-only, no account. This file concatenates the Markdown twins of the public pages so an answer engine can fetch the full brief in one request. --- # PUTTLE PUTTLE is a free daily pixel-art mini-golf puzzle — like Wordle for golf. Play it at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/) in any modern browser; there is no download and no account. It is not a word game. It is not the physical Puttle putting mat. ## How to play Drag back from the ball like a slingshot, then release to putt. Pull farther for more power. The aim line shows **direction only** — you read the banks and judge distance yourself. Sink all **5 holes**. Bank off rails and posts, pop carnival bumpers, bank a spinning windmill, sliding gate, crossing boom, rolling log, spore gate, or mine cart, bounce on mushroom pads, slow down in sand, glide on ice, skirt water, ride amber speed strips, and watch sloped greens curve the ball. Miss a line? Undo takes back your last putt. A round with no undos is a **clean card** after you finish. On a keyboard: **← →** aim, **↑ ↓** or **+** / **−** set power, **1 2 3** snap SOFT · MED · HARD, **Space** putts, **C** opens the scorecard, **U** undoes, hold **V** to peek. Optional gems (5 per daily) do not change your score. Collect all 5 on one daily to unlock the Sapphire ball. Need a no-pressure round first? Practice mode is unlimited and does not affect your streak. The first time you tap PLAY TODAY, a one-hole RANGE teaches a bank shot before the daily counts. After you finish the daily you can Practice this course — same holes, unofficial. ## Scoring Par is the target number of strokes. Under par is better, over par is extra strokes, and **E** means even — right on par. A splash in water costs **+1** stroke, then you replay from where you putted. Gems never add or subtract strokes. After the round you can share a spoiler-free scorecard and, if you like, appear on the global honor-system leaderboard or a friends group. On the daily, faint ghost balls of other players who posted can replay their strokes on the green — decoration, not a walkthrough; posted friends tint a distinct color, and after you hole out one or two traces loop on that green as a gallery. The recap map shows their traces under yours after you finish. The daily is one official attempt; a mid-round checkpoint means closing the tab does not lose the round. After you finish, Practice this course retries the same holes without touching your streak or the board. A wild practice layout can be shared as a seed-only link. Stats shows a month of your cards — tap a past day to replay it unofficially. ## When it resets There is one 5-hole course per local calendar day, identical for every player, seeded by the date. A new course appears at **local midnight**. Day #1 was June 1, 2026. From day 81 the round is a park-style tour with named hole silhouettes (dogleg, island, keyhole, and others) and rotating worlds that play differently. Seasonal and holiday visual themes re-skin the course by date. PUTTLE is installable as a PWA. It is completely free; Google AdSense may show ads. Optional [one-time tips](https://puttle.golf/support) help keep it that way and do not unlock gameplay. Stats stay in your browser. You play it in any modern browser at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). There is no download and no account. Each local calendar day has one 5-hole course. The layout is seeded by the date, so every player on that date gets the same holes, the same par, and the same hazards. You slingshot-putt, bank off rails, read slopes, and try to finish at or under par. Then you can share a spoiler-free scorecard. Day #1 was June 1, 2026. From day 81 the daily is a park-style tour: five named hole silhouettes (dogleg, island, keyhole, and others) plus rotating worlds that play differently (carnival bumpers and windmills, enchanted mushrooms and spore gates, coastal ice and booms, royal marble and sliding gates, tropical lagoons and logs, treasure crates and carts), so the round feels like a walk through a mini-golf park rather than five copies of the same hole. The skill is line and pace. The aim line shows direction only. You judge power, banks, and when to leave a hazard alone. ## Wordle for golf People looking for a **Wordle for golf** or a **golf Wordle** want that daily ritual: one shared puzzle, a few minutes, a spoiler-free scorecard. PUTTLE is that daily with five pixel-art mini-golf holes instead of a five-letter word. It is not affiliated with Wordle or the New York Times. Longer explanation: [Wordle for golf](https://puttle.golf/wordle-for-golf). Other dailies in the same shape: [games like Wordle](https://puttle.golf/games-like-wordle). ## How the daily works Open [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/) and play today’s course. Drag back from the ball like a slingshot and release to putt. Pull farther for more power. Keyboard players can aim with the arrow keys, set power with **+** and **−**, and putt with **Space**. A round is five holes. Par is the target stroke count. Under par is better; over par is extra strokes; **E** means even (exactly par). Hazards are part of the puzzle: - **Rails and posts** — bank off them. - **Sand** — slows the ball. - **Ice** — the ball glides. - **Water** — a splash costs +1 stroke, then you replay from where you putted. - **Sloped greens** — curve the roll. - **Speed strips** — amber pads that accelerate the ball. You can undo your last putt. Optional gems (five per daily) never change your score; collecting all five on one daily unlocks the Sapphire ball. The daily is one official attempt. If you close the tab mid-round, a checkpoint keeps your place so you do not lose the course. Practice mode is unlimited and does not affect your streak — use it to learn the slingshot, then play the daily when you are ready. A new course appears at local midnight, when your calendar date changes. Everyone on that local date plays the same five holes. ## What’s free PUTTLE is completely free. You do not pay to play, and the Sapphire ball is earned in play, not bought. Optional one-time [tips](https://puttle.golf/support) help keep it little and free; they do not unlock anything. Google AdSense may show ads. Stats, streaks, and an in-progress daily live in the browser on your device. You can install PUTTLE as a progressive web app (PWA) for one-tap daily rounds, including Add to Home Screen on many phones — it is not an App Store or Google Play listing. See [Install PUTTLE](https://puttle.golf/install). Seasonal and holiday visual themes re-skin the course by date; players on the same date see the same look. Keyboard putting and reduced motion: [accessible mini golf](https://puttle.golf/accessibility). ## Leaderboard and sharing There is a global honor-system leaderboard and optional friends groups. You can pick a public display name (at most 16 characters); you still do not need an account. Friends groups use a shareable code and hold at most 50 players. After a round you can share a spoiler-free scorecard so someone else can play the same course without seeing your lines. How posting works: [PUTTLE FAQ](https://puttle.golf/faq). What the board stores: [Privacy](https://puttle.golf/privacy). On the daily, faint ghost balls of other players who posted can replay their strokes on the green — decorations, not a walkthrough. After you hole out, one or two traces loop on that green as a gallery. The recap map shows their traces under yours after you finish. The board is for a casual daily: compare how you scored on today’s shared course, not a live match. ## What PUTTLE is not PUTTLE is not a golf simulator. It does not model real-world clubs, swing mechanics, or championship 18-hole golf. Holes are winding pixel-art putt-putt layouts, not aerial photography of a tour venue. It is not a golf-themed Wordle. Those games hide a five-letter word and score guesses like strokes. PUTTLE is slingshot putting. It is not multiplayer match play. You are not putting against another person on the same green in real time. You play the daily on your own, then compare afterward — on the honor-system board, in a friends group, or with a scorecard. Faint ghosts of other posted rounds may appear on the daily green; they are not live opponents. It is not a downloadable app store title you have to install before you can try it. The game is the website. Install the PWA if you want a home-screen icon; it is optional. It is not the physical **Puttle putting mat** — a home-practice kit with pins on a strip of turf. That product is unrelated. This PUTTLE is the daily pixel-art mini-golf puzzle at puttle.golf. It is also not Golfle, a different daily cave-golf app. ## Other daily mini golf games Other daily mini-golf games exist. Some serve one 3D hole. Some serve three generated levels. Coffee Golf is a 5-hole daily as a phone app. PUTTLE is the 5-hole pixel-art park you play in the browser: no App Store, same layout for everyone on that local date. This page is not a ranked list. PUTTLE is a small daily puzzle: five holes, one shared course, a few minutes, then tomorrow’s park. Scoring is stroke play versus par; water is +1, and gems never change the card — [PUTTLE scoring](https://puttle.golf/scoring). The physics framing: [golf puzzle game](https://puttle.golf/golf-puzzle). Rotating park kits: [PUTTLE worlds](https://puttle.golf/worlds). Play at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/) in any modern browser — no download, no account. ## Controls 1. Open [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/) and start today’s course (first time: a one-hole **RANGE**, then the daily), or choose Practice (first time: the same RANGE, then a random course) to learn with no streak. 2. Drag **back** from the ball like a slingshot. Pull farther for more power — the ring fills **SOFT · MED · HARD**. 3. Release to putt. A short pull is a tap; a long pull is a hard shot. 4. Trust the aim line for **direction only**. It does not draw the bounce or the curve — you read rails, slopes, and distance yourself. 5. Follow the red arrow if the cup is off-screen. A cyan pip points to an uncollected gem. **Hold empty space** (or tap **👁 PEEK**, or press **V**) to see the whole hole. Drag empty space or two-finger / scroll to pan. Your first putt is always a slingshot — empty-green pan starts after that. 6. Miss a line? **Undo** takes back your last putt. You can then aim again from that rest spot. A ball jammed in a corner gets a **free lie** (a tiny nudge, no extra stroke); if you're still wedged, drag from empty green. If **Pick up** appears (two over par), it ends the hole with those strokes — a double bogey, not a walk-off eagle. In Practice, **↺ HOLE** restarts the current hole from the tee. ## Keyboard 7. Use **← →** to aim and **↑ ↓** (or **+** / **−**) to set power. Hold **Shift** for finer aim and power. 8. Press **1**, **2**, or **3** to snap to **SOFT · MED · HARD**. 9. Press **Space** to putt. **U** undoes the last putt. **V** peeks the whole hole. **C** opens the scorecard. ## Hazards 10. **Rails and posts** — the ball banks off them. Use the bounce; do not treat every wall as a miss. 11. **Sand** — slows the ball. Extra power, or stay out. 12. **Ice** — the ball glides and can overshoot. Plan the stop, not only the start. 13. **Water** — a splash costs **+1** stroke, then you replay from where you putted. Leave a dry lane. 14. **Sloped greens** — the roll curves downhill, the way the arrows point. The low side is shaded darker. Aim with the slope in mind. 15. **Speed strips** — pads that accelerate the ball the way their chevrons point, sometimes back toward the tee. Ride them on purpose, or miss them on purpose. 16. **Carnival bumpers** — candy-ring pinball posts that pop the ball (they add energy). Optional — leave a lane around them. 17. **Mushroom pads** — enchanted trampolines. Roll onto one for a launch. Score-neutral, like gems. 18. **Windmills** — carnival vanes that turn on the hole clock (the same puzzle for everyone). Bank them or leave a lane; you never have to wait for a gap. 19. **Sliding gates** — royal marble slabs that shuttle along a rail. A dry lane stays open the whole cycle. 20. **Booms** — coastal driftwood arms that extend and retract from a rail post. Bank them or leave a lane; you never have to wait. 21. **Rolling logs** — tropical trunks that shuttle along a rail. A dry lane stays open the whole cycle. ## Scoring 22. Sink all **5 holes**. Par is the target number of strokes. Under par is better, over par is extra strokes, and **E** means even — right on par. 23. Water’s +1 is a real stroke. Optional **gems** (5 per daily) do not change your score. Collect all 5 on one daily to unlock the Sapphire ball. 24. The **Director's Challenge** is a score-neutral extra on the daily (bank a putt, skirt water, and the rest). A week-long extra on the title and in Stats (for example bank 3 putts this week) is also score-neutral. Clearing either never changes par or your score. 25. The **daily** is one official attempt. A mid-round checkpoint saves progress, so closing the tab does not lose the round. After you finish, **Practice this course** retries the same holes with no streak or board. Stats shows a month of your cards — tap a past day to replay it unofficially. 26. **Practice** is unlimited and does not affect your streak. Use it to try lines; **↺ HOLE** restarts the current hole. After a wild layout you can **SHARE LAYOUT** — a seed-only link, never your path. Play the daily when you want the official card. First-time PLAY TODAY starts on the RANGE. 27. After you finish, share a spoiler-free scorecard. You can post to the global honor-system leaderboard or a friends group without creating an account. 28. Ghosts on the Daily are other players' balls, not a walkthrough. They loop faintly while you putt; posted friends tint a distinct color. After you hole out, one or two traces loop on that green as a gallery. The recap map shows their traces after you finish. ## Tips 29. Judge the banks. The puzzle is often a rail, not a straight putt. 30. Scout before the hard shot. Holes wind; the camera follows the ball. 31. Skip gems if you are protecting par. They are optional. 32. A new course appears at **local midnight**. Everyone on that local date plays the same five holes, seeded by the date. 33. From day 81 the round is a park-style tour with named silhouettes (dogleg, island, keyhole, and others) and rotating worlds that *play* differently: coastal ice, water, and crossing booms; enchanted mushrooms and spore gates; carnival bumpers and windmills; royal marble rails and sliding gates; tropical lagoons and rolling logs; treasure crates and rolling carts. Seasonal and holiday themes change how the course looks, not how you putt. Lower is better. Play at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). ## Round score Add the strokes from all **5 holes** and compare that total to the course par. **Under par** is better. **Over par** is extra strokes. **E** means even — exactly par for the round. The honor-system leaderboard ranks players by that stroke total. The server stores the official par for the day, so score-to-par is not something a client can fake. ## Hole scores Each hole has its own par. After you hole out, PUTTLE names the result from how many strokes you took versus that par: - **Ace** — holed in one. - **Albatross** — three under par. - **Eagle** — two under par. - **Birdie** — one under par. - **Par** — exactly the target. - **Bogey** — one over. - **Double bogey** — two over. - **+3 or more** — shown as the raw over-par number. Holing a putt off a rail is a **bank shot**. It is a flourish, not a scoring bonus — the stroke count does not change. ## What counts as a stroke Every putt counts. A splash in **water** costs **+1** stroke, then you replay from where you last putted. If **Pick up** appears (two over par), PUTTLE ends the hole with those strokes — a double bogey, not a walk-off eagle — and moves on. Those strokes still count. **Undo** takes back only your last putt. It does not add a stroke; it restores the ball and the stroke count to the previous rest spot. A round with zero undos is a **clean card**. Results and the share name it. Undo stays free. The badge never changes strokes, par, or the board. ## What does not change your score These never add or subtract strokes: - **Gems** (five per daily). Collect all five on one daily to unlock the Sapphire ball. - The **Director's Challenge** (an optional extra goal on the daily). Clearing it is a badge, not a score change. - The **week-long extra** on the title and in Stats (for example bank 3 putts this week). Also score-neutral. - Seasonal themes, worlds, and cosmetics. Hazards other than water change how the ball rolls, not the math: **sand** slows, **ice** glides, **slopes** curve, **speed strips** accelerate, **rails and posts** bank. ## Daily vs practice The **daily** is one official attempt at today’s shared course. A checkpoint saves an in-progress daily if you close the tab. After you finish, **Practice this course** retries the same holes with no streak or board. **Practice** is otherwise unlimited random layouts and does not affect your streak or the daily leaderboard. First-time PLAY TODAY starts on a one-hole RANGE that does not count as the daily. PUTTLE is a free daily pixel-art mini-golf puzzle — like Wordle for golf — that you play in a web browser at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). Each local calendar day has one 5-hole course, identical for every player, seeded by the date. There is no download and no account. ### Is PUTTLE free? PUTTLE is completely free to play, with no download and no account. Google AdSense may show ads. Optional one-time tips help keep it that way and do not unlock gameplay. Stats stay in your browser. Optional gems and the Sapphire ball are earned in play, not purchased. ### Can I tip to keep PUTTLE free? Yes. Tips are optional one-time payments through Stripe. They do not unlock holes, cosmetics, or scores — PUTTLE stays free either way. Choose $3, $5, $10, or another amount at [https://puttle.golf/support](https://puttle.golf/support). Tips are not tax-deductible donations. ### Is PUTTLE like Wordle? PUTTLE is a Wordle-style daily: one shared puzzle per day, then a spoiler-free scorecard you can share. The puzzle is mini-golf rather than letters — five pixel-art holes instead of a five-letter word. It is not a live multiplayer match. ### Is PUTTLE a word game? No. PUTTLE is slingshot putting on a shared 5-hole park. You do not type letters and there is no hidden word. Golf-themed Wordle clones still hide a five-letter word and score guesses like strokes. PUTTLE copies the daily ritual, not the mechanic. More: [Wordle for golf](https://puttle.golf/wordle-for-golf). ### Do all players get the same course? Every player on a given local calendar date plays the same 5-hole PUTTLE course, seeded by the date. A new course appears at local midnight. Day #1 was June 1, 2026. From day 81 the round is a park-style tour with named silhouettes (dogleg, island, keyhole, and others) and rotating worlds that play differently (carnival bumpers and windmills, enchanted mushrooms and spore gates, coastal ice and booms, royal sliding gates, tropical logs, treasure carts, and more). ### How do you play PUTTLE? Drag back from the ball like a slingshot and release to putt; the aim line shows direction only. Pull farther for more power (the ring fills SOFT · MED · HARD), bank off rails and posts, and sink all five holes. On a keyboard: left/right arrows aim, up/down or **+** / **−** set power, **1 2 3** snap SOFT · MED · HARD, **Space** putts, **C** opens the scorecard, **U** undoes, **V** peeks. Undo takes back your last putt. First time? PLAY TODAY starts with a one-hole range. ### What is par in PUTTLE? Par is the target number of strokes for a hole and for the five-hole round. Under par is better, over par is extra strokes, and **E** means even — right on par. Optional gems do not change par or your score. Full rules: [PUTTLE scoring](https://puttle.golf/scoring). ### Does water cost a stroke? Hitting water in PUTTLE is a splash: you take **+1** stroke and replay the putt from where you last putted. Sand slows the ball, ice makes it glide, sloped greens curve the roll, and amber speed strips accelerate it. Carnival bumpers pop the ball like pinball; enchanted mushroom pads launch it. From day 89, carnival windmills, royal sliding gates, coastal booms, tropical logs, enchanted spore gates, and treasure carts move on a hole clock — bank them or leave a lane; you never have to wait. Rails and posts are for bank shots. ### What is the difference between Practice and the daily? The daily is one official attempt at today’s shared course and can build a streak; Practice is unlimited extra rounds that do not affect your streak. Closing the tab mid-daily does not lose the round — a checkpoint keeps your place. First-timers who tap PLAY TODAY or PRACTICE get a one-hole range (a visible bank into the cup) before the daily or a practice round; it does not count as today’s card. Practice is for learning the slingshot with no pressure on the official card. After a practice round you can share a layout link so a friend can play the same unofficial holes — the link is the seed only, never your path. ### What is the RANGE in PUTTLE? The RANGE is a one-hole bank lesson. The first time you tap PLAY TODAY or PRACTICE, PUTTLE starts you on that hole before the daily or a practice round. It does not count as today's official card. ### Do I need an account to play PUTTLE? PUTTLE does not require an account. You play in the browser; local stats live on your device. The global leaderboard and friends groups are honor-system boards with optional public display names. ### Does PUTTLE work on mobile? PUTTLE runs in any modern mobile or desktop browser at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/) and is installable as a PWA, including Add to Home Screen on many phones. Drag back from the ball with a finger the same way you would with a mouse. ### When does the new PUTTLE course appear? A new 5-hole PUTTLE course appears at local midnight, when your device’s calendar date changes. Until then, everyone on that local date is on the same course. Seasonal and holiday visual themes also follow the date. ### Can I undo a putt, and do gems count? Undo in PUTTLE takes back your last putt. Optional gems (5 per daily) do not change your score; collect all 5 on one daily to unlock the Sapphire ball. ### What is a clean card in PUTTLE? A clean card is a round with zero undos. Results and the share name it. Undo stays free and never adds a stroke. The badge is not a second leaderboard and not a penalty. Stroke math: [PUTTLE scoring](https://puttle.golf/scoring). ### Is there a PUTTLE app? PUTTLE is not listed on the App Store or Google Play. It is a free website at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/) that you can install as a progressive web app (PWA) from the browser — Add to Home Screen on many phones — for one-tap daily rounds. See [Install PUTTLE](https://puttle.golf/install). ### Is PUTTLE multiplayer? PUTTLE is not live multiplayer. You play the daily 5-hole course on your own. Faint ghost balls of other players who posted their score can appear on today's green as decoration, not as a walkthrough. After you finish, compare on the honor-system leaderboard, in a friends group, or with a spoiler-free scorecard. Everyone on that local date plays the same course. ### What are ghosts in PUTTLE? On today's Daily, faint balls of other players who posted their score replay their strokes on the green. They are decorations, not hints — you still have to find the line yourself. Posted friends in a group tint a distinct color so you can spot them. After you hole out, one or two of those traces loop on that green for a couple of seconds as a gallery. After you finish the round, the recap map shows their traces under yours. Practice rounds never load ghosts, and posting to the honor-system board is what shares yours. See [Privacy](https://puttle.golf/privacy). ### How long does a PUTTLE round take? A PUTTLE round is five holes and typically takes a few minutes. There is no timer. You can pause; an in-progress daily is checkpointed if you close the tab. ### Can I replay today's PUTTLE course? The daily is one official attempt. After you finish, PUTTLE shows your scorecard rather than a second official round of today's course. Practice this course from the results screen to retry the same holes with no streak or board. Stats also shows a month of your cards — tap a past day to replay it unofficially. A friend's share link to a past day can be replayed; a link to today opens the live daily. ### What happens if I miss a day of PUTTLE? PUTTLE streaks count consecutive local calendar days. You start with a streak freeze: missing exactly one day spends a freeze instead of resetting the streak. Completing a week of streak re-grants a freeze, up to two banked. Missing two or more days without a freeze resets the streak. ### What is the Director's Challenge in PUTTLE? The Director's Challenge is an optional, score-neutral goal shown on the daily (for example finish under par, bank a putt, collect every gem, or a world extra like skirt the lagoon). A week-long extra on the title and in Stats (for example bank 3 putts this week) is also score-neutral. Clearing either never changes your stroke total, par, or leaderboard score. ### Does PUTTLE work offline? PUTTLE generates the daily course on your device. After you have opened the site once, the game can load without a network. The global leaderboard and friends groups need a connection. ### Can I skip a hole in PUTTLE? If a hole is taking too long, PUTTLE shows Pick up once you are two over par. It ends the hole as a double bogey — those strokes still count — then moves you on. It is not a walk-off eagle. Undo takes back only the last putt. ### How do I share my PUTTLE score? After a round you can share a spoiler-free emoji scorecard and a pixel-art image. Daily share links include the day number so a friend can play the same course. The scorecard does not show your aiming lines. ### Can I open a scorecard during a PUTTLE round? Yes. During a round, tap the SCORECARD control in the HUD or press C. The card lists holes you have finished versus par. Holes you have not reached stay hidden. On a wide desktop the card sits beside the green. It does not change strokes. ### What devices and browsers does PUTTLE support? PUTTLE runs in any modern mobile or desktop browser with JavaScript and HTML5 Canvas — including Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. Keyboard, mouse, and touch are supported. Reduced-motion preferences are respected. ### Is there a Wordle for golf? PUTTLE is a Wordle-style daily mini-golf puzzle at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). Each local date has one 5-hole course, the same for every player. It is not affiliated with Wordle or the New York Times. NYT Wordle Golf is a nine-day tally of Wordle guess counts. PUTTLE is slingshot putting. More: [Wordle for golf](https://puttle.golf/wordle-for-golf). ### Can I play mini golf online for free? Yes. PUTTLE is a free online mini-golf game in the browser at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). There is no download, no account, and no paywall. Optional tips do not unlock holes. ### Is PUTTLE on Steam, the App Store, or Google Play? No. PUTTLE is a website at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). You can install it as a PWA from the browser for a home-screen icon. See [Install PUTTLE](https://puttle.golf/install). ### Is PUTTLE a golf simulator? No. PUTTLE is pixel-art putt-putt, not a 3D golf sim. There are no clubs, swing meters, or 18-hole championship courses. You slingshot-putt on winding rails and try to beat par. ### What is a bank shot in PUTTLE? A bank shot is a putt that holes off a rail or post. It is a flourish, not a scoring bonus — the stroke count does not change. Many holes hide the cup around a dogleg, so banks are often the line. ### Is PUTTLE good for kids? PUTTLE is a short, free, family-friendly mini-golf puzzle with no chat, no account, and no timer. Undo takes back a miss. Younger players may want help reading banks and slopes. Practice mode does not affect the daily streak. ### What games are like Wordle? Wordle-likes are short daily puzzles everyone shares, then a spoiler-free scorecard. PUTTLE is the mini-golf version: five holes instead of five letters. It is not a word game. See [games like Wordle](https://puttle.golf/games-like-wordle). ### Can I play PUTTLE on iPhone or Android without an app? Yes. Open [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/) in Safari or Chrome and play in the browser. Drag back from the ball with a finger. You can Add to Home Screen for one-tap rounds; it is not an App Store listing. See [PUTTLE on iPhone and Android](https://puttle.golf/mobile). ### Is PUTTLE the same as the Puttle putting mat? No. PUTTLE at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/) is a free daily pixel-art mini-golf puzzle in the browser. The Puttle putting mat is a separate physical home-practice kit with pins on a strip of turf. They are unrelated products that share a similar name. ### Is PUTTLE a golf puzzle game? Yes. PUTTLE is a golf puzzle: you solve five mini-golf holes with line and pace, not a hidden word. Stroke play versus par, banks, water +1. Same 5-hole course for everyone that local date. More: [golf puzzle game](https://puttle.golf/golf-puzzle). ### How is PUTTLE different from other daily mini golf games? PUTTLE is a five-hole pixel-art park tour, identical for every player on that local date, with rotating worlds (carnival, coastal, royal, and the rest). Some other dailies serve one hole or three generated levels. PUTTLE is not Golfle, not a 3D sim, and not NYT Wordle. Play at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). Worlds: [PUTTLE worlds](https://puttle.golf/worlds). ### How is today's PUTTLE course generated? The daily 5-hole course is generated on your device from the local calendar date. There is no server-sent layout. Everyone on that date gets the same holes, the same par, and the same hazards. A new course appears at local midnight. Day #1 was June 1, 2026. How the reset works: [daily golf puzzle](https://puttle.golf/daily). ### How does the PUTTLE leaderboard work? The BOARD is an honor-system ranking of stroke totals on today's shared course. You do not need an account. Display names are at most 16 characters. The server stores the official par for the day, so score-to-par is not something a client can fake. Optional friends groups use a shareable code (at most 50 players). Posted rounds can appear as faint ghost traces. What is stored: [Privacy](https://puttle.golf/privacy). Stroke math: [PUTTLE scoring](https://puttle.golf/scoring). ### Is PUTTLE accessible? PUTTLE can be played with a keyboard as well as a mouse or a finger. The course canvas has an accessible name, a live region announces strokes, and reduced-motion preferences cut camera flyovers, particles, and ghost motion. Dialogs trap focus and Escape dismisses them. There is no chat. The green is still a canvas, not a DOM list of rails. Full map: [PUTTLE accessibility](https://puttle.golf/accessibility). ### What are named park greens in PUTTLE? From day 81 each hole has a named silhouette and the cup sits around a dogleg on purpose. From day 97 those names are whole-board shapes: a clover has four lobes, a needle is 1-wide, a moat wraps the cup. Worlds rotate the toys. Par stays a function of the fairway. Worlds: [PUTTLE worlds](https://puttle.golf/worlds). ### Can PUTTLE remind me to play? Yes, if you ask it to. Turn on Remind me daily after a round and PUTTLE shows one local notification a day, around 9am your local time — no evening streak warning and no countdown. Reminders are not sent through PUTTLE servers, so a fully closed PUTTLE can only wake itself on an installed Android or desktop Chromium app. In a browser tab, in Safari or Firefox, and on an iPhone home screen the nudge arrives only while PUTTLE is open, and the button says so on your device. Turning it off deletes the pending nudge. Install: [Install PUTTLE](https://puttle.golf/install). Play at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/) in any modern browser. You can optionally **install it as a progressive web app (PWA)** so today’s course opens in one tap from your home screen. ## iPhone and iPad (Safari) 1. Open [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/) in **Safari** (Add to Home Screen is a Safari feature). 2. Tap the **Share** button. 3. Tap **Add to Home Screen**, then Add. The PUTTLE icon appears on your home screen. It opens the same game, full screen, without the browser chrome. ## Android (Chrome) 1. Open [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/) in **Chrome**. 2. Open the Chrome menu. 3. Tap **Install app** or **Add to Home Screen**, then confirm. If Chrome shows an install banner in PUTTLE, you can use that instead. ## Computer In Chrome, Edge, or other Chromium browsers, look for an **install** icon in the address bar, or use the browser menu’s install / app command. PUTTLE can also prompt you to install after you play. ## After you install Installing does not create an account. Stats still live in the browser on that device. You can turn on **Remind me daily** for one local notification a day, around 9am your local time — it is not sent through PUTTLE servers. Because there is no server sending them, reminders can only wake a fully closed PUTTLE where the browser lets an installed app check in on its own: an installed PWA on Android or desktop Chromium (Chrome, Edge). In a browser tab, in Safari or Firefox, and on an iPhone home screen, the nudge arrives only while PUTTLE is open. The reminder button tells you which of those you are on rather than promising the same thing everywhere. The daily course is generated on your device. After the first visit, the game can load without a network; the global leaderboard still needs a connection. Uninstall the same way you remove any other home-screen app or PWA. Clearing the site’s data in the browser deletes local stats and streaks. We do not create user accounts or ask for an email address. ## On your device Progress, streaks, stats, cosmetics, mute settings, and an in-progress daily round are stored in your browser. Clearing this site’s data in your browser deletes them. ## Leaderboard If you use the board, we store a random client id generated on your device, a public display name (an auto-generated alias or a name you choose, up to 16 characters), your stroke total for that day, and when it was submitted. Friends groups store a shareable group code, a group name, your client id, and your display name. Access uses a short-lived anonymous token — no sign-in. How the BOARD plays for people: [PUTTLE FAQ](https://puttle.golf/faq). If you post, we also store a downsampled trace of your five holes (first-and-best only) so other players can see faint ghost replays of those strokes on that day's course. Traces are not stored unless you post. We do not attach them to a real-world identity. ## Reminders “Remind me daily” is optional and off until you turn it on. With permission, your browser or installed PWA may show local notifications — one a day, around 9am your local time. These reminders are not sent through PUTTLE servers. Your reminder setting and the single pending nudge are stored in this site’s data in your browser, alongside your stats. Nothing about reminders is sent anywhere: there is no push subscription, no device token, and no row on our side. Turning reminders off clears the pending nudge, and clearing this site’s data removes the setting too. A fully closed PUTTLE can only wake itself on an installed Android or desktop Chromium app — see [Install](https://puttle.golf/install). ## Analytics and advertising DataFast records anonymous page views. A Vercel edge middleware also reports known crawler requests (path, user-agent, and IP) to DataFast so we can see bot and AI-assistant traffic; human visitors are not sent on that path. Vercel Web Analytics records anonymous funnel events (for example starting or finishing a round). The site also loads Google AdSense and Google Ads (gtag), and may load Google Fonts. Those services process data under their own policies and may use cookies or similar technologies. ## Tips Optional one-time tips go through Stripe Checkout on a page hosted by Stripe. Stripe collects the payment details it needs to process the charge. PUTTLE does not store card numbers. A tip does not create a PUTTLE account and does not change your game. ## What we don’t collect We do not require an account, password, or email. Game history stays on your device unless you submit to the leaderboard. Display names on the board are public. This page may be updated when the game’s data practices change. PUTTLE is that game with putts instead of letters: five pixel-art mini-golf holes, one course per local date. Play free at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). It is not a word game, and it is not affiliated with Wordle or the New York Times. Golf-themed Wordle clones still hide a five-letter word. PUTTLE does not. ## What “Wordle for golf” means here Wordle’s rhythm is the point: one puzzle per local calendar day, identical for every player, done in a few minutes, then a grid you can post. PUTTLE copies that ritual and swaps letters for putts. You get five winding pixel-art mini-golf holes instead of a five-letter word. Par is the target, not a hidden word. People also search **golf Wordle**, **Wordle golf**, and **golf word game**. PUTTLE is the putting version, not a crossword about birdies. There is no typing. You slingshot-putt, bank off rails, and try to finish at or under par. ## Not a golf word game Golf-themed Wordle clones still hide a five-letter word. Each guess is a stroke on a card. PUTTLE has no typing and no hidden word. You slingshot-putt on a shared park. ## Not NYT Wordle Golf The New York Times published Wordle Golf as a nine-day or eighteen-day tally of Wordle guess counts, scored like bogeys on a card. PUTTLE does not tally guesses. It is slingshot putting on a shared park. ## Wordle vs PUTTLE - **Cadence** — both reset at local midnight. Miss a PUTTLE day and a streak freeze can save you once; miss two without a freeze and the streak resets. - **The shared object** — Wordle shares a word. PUTTLE shares a 5-hole course seeded by the date, so your friend is reading the same dogleg. - **The skill** — Wordle is vocabulary and pattern. PUTTLE is line and pace: the aim line shows direction only. - **The share card** — both stay spoiler-free. PUTTLE’s card is strokes versus par (and optional gems), not green squares for letters. - **Replay** — Wordle is one official word. PUTTLE’s daily is one official card; Practice and “practice this course” do not touch streak or the board. ## How a golf Wordle round plays Open the site, drag back from the ball like a slingshot, and release to putt. Pull farther for more power. Sink all five holes. Water is a splash (+1, then replay from where you putted). Sand slows, ice glides, slopes curve, rails are for banks. Optional gems never change your score. First time? PLAY TODAY starts on a one-hole RANGE that teaches a bank, then the daily counts. Keyboard: arrows aim, +/− power, Space putts. Full controls: [How to play](https://puttle.golf/how-to). ## Same ritual, different games PUTTLE is not NYT Games, not Connections, not a golf-themed Wordle clone with letters. It is not a live match and not a 3D simulator. It is also not the **Puttle putting mat** — a physical home-practice kit with pins on a strip of turf. That product is unrelated. This PUTTLE is the daily pixel-art mini-golf puzzle at puttle.golf. It is not **Golfle**, a different daily cave-golf app. Other browser mini-golf dailies exist too: some serve one 3D hole, some three generated levels. PUTTLE is a five-hole pixel-art park tour, the same layout for everyone on that local date. Fair category, not a ranked list — see [games like Wordle](https://puttle.golf/games-like-wordle) for the daily-puzzle contract, and [golf puzzle game](https://puttle.golf/golf-puzzle) for the physics framing. If you want words, play a word daily. If you want a putt-putt puzzle the whole timeline can argue about, play [today’s PUTTLE](https://puttle.golf/). PUTTLE is a **daily mini-golf** puzzle instead of letters. Open [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). No signup. ## Keep Wordle. Add a putting card Most listicles dump fifty clones into one post. Skip them. If your group already texts a letter grid at breakfast, leave that slot alone. PUTTLE is a second habit. Mini-golf. You drag and release. You are not typing a five-letter answer. ## What your thumbs actually do Daily puzzle games split by the motion, not the blurb: - **Spelling dailies** hide a word or a rack. - **Grouping dailies** sort a set. Connections lives here. PUTTLE is not an NYT game. - **Geography dailies** ask a country, a flag, a photo. - **Aim dailies** share a toy you point. PUTTLE is this slot. Mini-golf, stroke play, a short sitting. Format can match Wordle without stealing its mechanic. PUTTLE copies the cadence and swaps the toy. ## One counted try A useful **daily puzzle game** is honest about the counted attempt. PUTTLE counts one card per local day. Practice is unlimited and skips the honor board. Close the tab mid-round and a checkpoint keeps your place. After you finish you may retry unofficially. That retry does not touch streak. Word dailies post a letter grid. PUTTLE posts strokes versus par, no aiming lines. Gems stay off the total. Mute the honor board if names bother you. Friends groups are optional. ## A Wordle alternative only in format You do not guess a word. You judge SOFT, MED, HARD and try to beat par. Splash is +1. Stats live on this device. Details: [About PUTTLE](https://puttle.golf/about). The putting analogy: [Wordle for golf](https://puttle.golf/wordle-for-golf). Want a flag? Play a geography daily. Want a **daily puzzle game** that is actually mini-golf? Play PUTTLE. Same social shape. Different hands. It is not NYT Wordle, not Connections, and not a golf-themed crossword. Keep the breakfast grid. Add the putting card. Open [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). No download, no account. ## Mini golf, not driving-range golf Real-world mini golf is a park of odd holes: a dogleg around a windmill, an island green, a corner you have to bank. PUTTLE is that toy, in pixel art. You do not pick a driver. You slingshot-putt on corridors with rails and posts. The cup sits around a bend on purpose — a straight blast is rarely the line. From day 81 the daily is a five-hole **park tour** with named silhouettes (alley, dogleg, snake, keyhole, island, stair, and others) and rotating worlds that play differently: carnival bumpers and windmills, enchanted mushroom pads and spore gates, coastal ice and booms, royal marble and sliding gates, tropical lagoons and logs, treasure crates and rolling carts. ## A park walk, not a driving range Classic putt-putt chains odd rooms: a windmill vane, an island, a dark alley. PUTTLE's carnival, coastal, royal, enchanted, tropical, and treasure kits are those rooms with different rails. You do not orbit a 3D model. You read a pixel corridor. ## Putt-putt, crazy golf, miniature golf Those names are the same family. **Putt-putt** and **crazy golf** usually mean themed rails and obstacles. **Miniature golf** is the broader park. PUTTLE uses all of that language because the physics match: bounce, skip water, leave sand alone, use a wall. ## Is PUTTLE a putting game? Yes, in the arcade sense: a **putting game** about pace and line. It is not a putting-green trainer with real stimp meters, and it is not PGA-tour golf. If you searched **putting game online** or **golf putting game** and wanted a short physics puzzle rather than a swing-stick sim, this is the one. Scoring is stroke play versus par; water is +1. Rules: [PUTTLE scoring](https://puttle.golf/scoring). ## How a hole plays Drag back from the ball and release. The aim line is direction only — you judge the bank and the speed. Sand grabs. Ice runs on. Slopes pull downhill. Amber speed strips punch the ball. Splash, take +1, replay from the last putt. Undo takes back a miss. Strategy: [mini-golf strategy](https://puttle.golf/strategy). A new 5-hole course appears at local midnight, the same for everyone that date. Practice is unlimited if you just want to hit balls. Pixel look: [pixel golf](https://puttle.golf/pixel-golf). Everyone on that local date plays the same five holes. Play at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). ## One course per local date The layout is seeded by the date, not by your account (there is no account). If you and a friend share a calendar date, you share the doglegs, the par, and the water. A new course appears at **local midnight**, when the date on your device changes — not at a single global UTC hour. Seasonal and holiday looks follow that same date. Day #1 was June 1, 2026. From day 81 each daily is a park-style tour: named hole silhouettes and rotating worlds, so Tuesday is not a clone of Monday with a new coat of paint. ## Official card vs practice The daily is **one official attempt**. Close the tab mid-round and a checkpoint keeps your place. After you hole out, the results screen is the card; you can still **practice this course** with no streak and no board. Separate **Practice** from the title screen is unlimited random layouts — a range, not today’s exam. First-time PLAY TODAY starts on a one-hole RANGE (a visible bank) that does not count as the daily. Use it, then take the official five. ## Streaks Streaks count consecutive local days. You start with a streak freeze: missing exactly one day spends a freeze instead of resetting. Completing a week of streak re-grants a freeze, up to two banked. Missing two or more days without a freeze resets it. Practice never saves or spends a streak. ## Share it like a daily puzzle After the round you can post a spoiler-free emoji scorecard and a pixel-art image. Daily links include the day number so a friend can play the same course. The card does not show your aiming lines. Same social shape as other dailies — see [Wordle for golf](https://puttle.golf/wordle-for-golf), [games like Wordle](https://puttle.golf/games-like-wordle), and [golf puzzle](https://puttle.golf/golf-puzzle). PUTTLE is a free **5-hole browser golf game**: type [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/) into a tab and putt. No download, no signup, no Steam client. ## No download golf game The game is a website, not an installer. Any current desktop browser with JavaScript and HTML5 Canvas 2D works — Firefox, Edge, or Chromium. Mouse and keyboard are first-class (arrows aim, +/− power, Space putt). Reduced-motion preferences are respected. After one visit, the card can load **offline**; the global leaderboard still needs a network. There is no executable to patch — refresh the tab. Handset layout: [mobile notes](https://puttle.golf/mobile). ## Free golf game, no account PUTTLE is completely free to play. There is no paywall, no energy meter, and no cosmetics shop. The Sapphire ball is earned by collecting gems in play. Optional one-time [tips](https://puttle.golf/support) do not unlock holes. AdSense may show ads. Local storage keeps your card on that machine. ## What “online golf” is (and is not) This is not live multiplayer match play and not a streamed 3D championship tour. It is a **free online mini-golf** daily: a 5-hole pixel-art layout, stroke play versus par, identical for every player that date. If you searched **HTML5 golf**, **golf game no download**, or **golf game no signup**, you are in the right place — then you actually have to read the banks. The course is drawn at a 180×320 logical resolution and scaled up so the pixels stay sharp. Play free at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). ## Retro golf, still a puzzle Searches for **pixel art golf**, **8-bit golf**, and **retro golf game** often mean a cute skin on a driving game. PUTTLE’s look is load-bearing: rails, sand, ice, and water have to read in a few colors so you can aim on a phone. The physics are the toy. The pixels are how the toy stays readable. ## Themes and worlds A date-based seasonal and holiday re-skin changes sky, rough, and flags — spring, summer, autumn, winter (flipped for your hemisphere), plus days like Halloween and Christmas. Players on the same date see the same look. The green’s playable physics stay the golf game. From day 107 season maps add ice, sand, bumpers, pads, and green feel on the world kit. Park-era dailies also rotate **worlds** with their own rails and toys: coastal driftwood, extra ice, and crossing booms; enchanted mushrooms and spore gates; carnival bumpers and windmills; royal marble and sliding gates; tropical lagoons and rolling logs; treasure crates and rolling carts. That is presentation plus feel, not a new par formula. How each kit plays: [PUTTLE worlds](https://puttle.golf/worlds). ## Not just wallpaper Holes wind larger than the screen. The camera follows the ball. You peek the whole layout, bank off pixel posts, and drop a pixel cup. If you wanted a **pixel putting game** you can actually finish in a few minutes, this is it — then tomorrow’s course is a new drawing, seeded by the date. These tips do not spoil today’s holes — every daily is a new layout. Play at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). Controls: [How to play](https://puttle.golf/how-to). ## Read the banks Classic putt-putt hides the cup around a corner. PUTTLE does too. If you cannot see the flag, you probably need a wall. Treat rails and posts as tools. Holing off a rail is a **bank shot**: it looks great and scores the same as a front-door drop — there is no flourish bonus. Park-era holes sit the cup around a dogleg on purpose. A straight blast down a 2-cell corridor is rarely the line. Chamfers and 45° elbows are there to kick; a thin post is a bumper you chose, not scenery. From day 96 a wide alley often has one extra bank or gate so the opener is not a gimme. If the opening looks too easy, peek — the cup is usually around the bend. ## Judge pace The aim line will not draw the bounce. The power ring fills **SOFT · MED · HARD**. A tap that dies on the lip is usually better than a rocket that crosses water. Keyboard: **1 2 3** snap those three paces. Mouse and touch: pull length is power. **Shift** (keyboard) is fine aim when a post is the difference. Leave yourself an easy second putt. Running 6 feet past the hole on marble (royal) is a different miss than dying in lush tropical grab — give tropical a bit more, ease coastal driftwood. ## Scout before the hard shot Holes are larger than the screen. Hold empty space, tap **PEEK**, or press **V**. The red arrow is the cup; the cyan pip is an uncollected gem. Pan after your first putt (the opening stroke is always a slingshot). Do not fire the opening blast into fog. ## Water Splash is **+1**, then you replay from where you putted. That is a real stroke, not a mulligan. Leave a **dry lane**. If the only heroic line crosses a pool, the safe bank around it is usually the card. You never have to wait for a moving toy to open a gap — there is always a lane. ## Sand Sand grabs. Carry extra pace through it, or go around. Treasure worlds add more sand; do not treat a bunker as a brake you can trust for a tap-in. ## Ice Ice is a glide. Plan the **stop**, not only the start. Coastal kits add extra ice. A SOFT that would die on grass can slide into water here. Bank into a rail to kill speed if you need a stay. ## Slopes, strips, bumpers, pads **Slopes** pull downhill on the roll — enchanted slopes bite harder. Aim above the fall line the way you would on a breaking putt. Amber **speed strips**, carnival **bumpers**, and mushroom **pads** add energy. Use them as a planned launch. A surprise bumper pop is how you find water. Pads are one radial pop per visit. ## Movers: mills, gates, booms, logs From day 89, carnival **windmills**, royal sliding **gates**, coastal **booms**, and tropical **logs** move on a hole clock. Bank them or leave a lane; **never wait** for a gap. They hug one rail so they do not seal the corridor. Worlds and toys: [PUTTLE worlds](https://puttle.golf/worlds). ## Protect par Optional gems and the Director's Challenge never add or subtract strokes. A week-long extra on the title and in Stats is also score-neutral. Collecting all five gems on one daily unlocks the Sapphire ball — skip them when the card is the goal. **Undo** is last putt only. If a hole is eating the round, pick up: those strokes still count. Practice mode and “practice this course” cost nothing. Open Safari or Chrome, pull back from the ball with a finger, and optionally **Add to Home Screen**. There is no App Store or Google Play listing. ## A card in your pocket If you searched **golf game for iPhone**, **mini golf Android**, or **play golf on my phone**, this is the handset path. One thumb does the slingshot. Hold empty green or tap PEEK to see a winding hole. A card is a few minutes — a café line, a commute, a couch. Portrait, one-handed. ## Thumbs, notches, and the first drag The board is 180 by 320 logical pixels, scaled to the screen. On a notched phone the HUD clears the safe area and status bar. Your first contact is a slingshot from the ball, not a pan. After that, an empty-green drag pans. There is no haptic pack and no gyroscope putting. ## Add to Home Screen Want a home-screen icon? That is a [progressive web app install](https://puttle.golf/install), still the website: - **iPhone / iPad** — Safari Share sheet → Add to Home Screen. - **Android** — Chrome menu → Install app or Add to Home Screen. Installing does not sign you in. Streaks stay in that profile. Uninstall like any other PWA. Clearing site data deletes streaks on that handset. ## Not the desktop story The no-installer tab write-up is [browser golf](https://puttle.golf/play-online). Free in the browser at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). No account, no chat, no timer. ## Kids’ mini golf, with honesty It is rated as a family-friendly video game: no violence, no purchases required to finish the daily, no strangers in a voice lobby. **Undo** takes back a miss. Practice does not wreck a streak. Younger players may still need help reading banks and slopes — it is a puzzle, not a tap-to-win toy. Everyone on that local date plays the **same five holes**, so a parent and a child can compare cards without playing at the same instant. Share a spoiler-free scorecard when you want; skip the board if you do not. ## Short sessions A round is five holes and usually a few minutes. There is no clock. You can pause; an in-progress daily is checkpointed if you close the tab. First-timers get a one-hole RANGE that shows a bank shot before the official card. ## Easy to start, optional to install Open the site on a phone or a laptop. Drag back from the ball. PUTTLE is a free **golf puzzle game** in the browser: five pixel-art mini-golf holes, stroke play versus par, the same layout for everyone that local date. Play at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). No download, no account. ## What a golf puzzle is Mini golf already is geometry. The cup hides. A rail is a tool. A wet tile is a trap. PUTTLE treats that as the puzzle. There is no hidden five-letter word. There is no club bag. The aim line shows **direction only**. You judge bounce and speed, then try to finish at or under par. People also search **mini golf puzzle**, **putting puzzle**, and **golf puzzle game**. Those queries usually want a short physics challenge, not a 3D sim and not a crossword about birdies. PUTTLE is the daily version of that toy. ## Five holes, one shared daily Some golf puzzles serve a single hole. PUTTLE is a **5-hole** round, a small park tour rather than one isolated cup. Everyone on that local calendar date plays the same five holes, seeded by the date, so you can argue about the same dogleg. A new course appears at local midnight. The daily is one official card. Practice is unlimited and does not affect streak. After you finish you can retry today’s layout unofficially. Cadence and streaks: [daily golf puzzle](https://puttle.golf/daily). The Wordle-shaped ritual: [Wordle for golf](https://puttle.golf/wordle-for-golf). ## A bank is a legal answer Word puzzles have one spelling. A golf puzzle has several legal lines: the front door, a rail kick, a two-cushion. Par does not care which. Lip-outs happen when pace dies on the rim. The cup sits around a dogleg on purpose so a dead-straight ace is rare. Hazards are clues, not decoration. A wet tile means leave a dry lane. A steep tile means plan the stop. Moving toys have a clock. You never have to wait. Holing off a wall scores the same as a front-door drop. The kit list lives on [PUTTLE worlds](https://puttle.golf/worlds). Optional gems never change your score. The Director's Challenge and the week-long extra are score-neutral. Rules: [PUTTLE scoring](https://puttle.golf/scoring). How to aim: [How to play](https://puttle.golf/how-to). Line choice: [mini-golf strategy](https://puttle.golf/strategy). ## Not a word game, not a sim A golf puzzle is not a golf-themed Wordle clone with letters, and it is not a driving-range simulator. One spelling is the wrong model. Several legal lines is the right one. Park toys: [PUTTLE worlds](https://puttle.golf/worlds). The arcade family: [free mini golf](https://puttle.golf/mini-golf). From day 81 each round is a five-hole tour with named silhouettes. Park-era days also rotate **worlds** — carnival, coastal, royal, enchanted, tropical, treasure — that change rails, toys, and how the green feels. Par stays a function of the fairway; the kits do not change the card. Play today’s world at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). Pixel look and seasonal re-skins (sky, rough, holidays) are separate: [pixel golf](https://puttle.golf/pixel-golf). This page is the **play-kit** — what actually moves and how it banks. ## Coastal Coastal greens run on **driftwood** rails that rebound softer than a carnival board. Extra **ice** shows up, and a pool of water can sit in the corridor — splash is still +1, then replay. From day 89 a **crossing boom** sweeps on a hole clock: bank it or leave the dry lane; you never have to wait. Ease the banks. Searches for **coastal mini golf** or lighthouse putt-putt are this kit. ## Enchanted Enchanted greens **slope harder**. Mushroom **pads** launch the ball like trampolines — one pop per visit, score-neutral. From day 89 a **spore gate** slides on a hole clock: bank the moss slab or leave the dry lane; you never have to wait. Stone posts and moss grain are the look; the puzzle is reading the fall line before you pull. Magic does not change par. ## Treasure Treasure parks sprinkle **sand** and **crate** posts you can bank. The crates are obstacles, not loot. From day 89 a **rolling cart** hugs one rail. Gems on the course still never add or subtract strokes; collecting all five on one daily unlocks the Sapphire ball. Give sandy lines extra pace or go around. ## Royal Royal greens are **marble**: bouncier rails and a faster roll (less grab). From day 89 a **sliding gate** travels on a hole clock. Thread the opening or bank the slab — do not stand and wait. Checker mow and castle props are presentation; the feel is the toy. ## Carnival Carnival is **pinball mini golf**: candy rails, **bumpers** that add speed, amber boost strips, and from day 89 a spinning **windmill**. Classic putt-putt. Ride a bumper on purpose; a surprise pop usually dumps you in water. If you searched **carnival mini golf** or **windmill putting game**, this is the kit. ## Tropical Tropical greens are **lush** — grabber than royal marble, so you give putts a bit more. Extra **sand** and a **lagoon** pool can sit in the fairway. From day 89 a **rolling log** hugs one rail. Bamboo posts, palms, and bloom scatter are the dress. From day 107 a calendar destination stacks on the rotating world. HAUNTED is the last week of October and FESTIVE is Christmas week. The rest of the year walks BLOOM, HEAT, HARVEST, and wrapping FROST. The destination adds ice, sand, bumpers, or pads and can retune how the green rolls. Par stays a function of the fairway. ## Park silhouettes Each hole in a park-era daily has a named shape, and the cup sits around a dogleg on purpose — no dead-straight ace. The five-hole tour walks a set of families (full atlas: [PUTTLE maps](https://puttle.golf/maps)): - **Openers** — pad, alley, elbow, hook: a first hole with a visible bank, a wide lane, a 90° turn, or a hooked return. - **Then a cut** — chute, dogleg, or lane: a squeeze, a classic corner, or twin lanes with a median. - **The wander** — snake, switch, gallery, zipper: offset rooms, two landings and a choke, a wide hall, opposite-corner joins. - **The tight cup** — keyhole, needle, island, moat: a choke into a putting court, a thin run, a green reached by one bridge. - **The closer** — arch, stair, corner, clover: a climb and one-step descent, cascading rooms, a U of two rooms, a hub with arms. From day 97 each named hole is a whole-board silhouette that matches its name. A clover has four lobes around a hub, a needle is a 1-wide run, and a moat wraps the cup. Days 1–96 keep the layouts they already had. Practice can preview the current stamps. The official daily is still one shared card. Obstacles: [PUTTLE hazards](https://puttle.golf/hazards). From day 91 each silhouette is a **room composition** — tee box, choke, cup green, designed posts and toys — not a constant-width pipe with stickers. Chamfers still round the rails; random jogs and kickers stay on the frozen day 81–90 pipes. Days 91–95 compose holes shipped without those random kickers. From day 96 compose holes also get one bank or thread crux. Strategy for banks and pace: [mini-golf strategy](https://puttle.golf/strategy). The puzzle framing: [golf puzzle game](https://puttle.golf/golf-puzzle). Worlds rotate with the date so Tuesday is not Monday in a new coat of paint. Practice can preview a world; the official daily is still one shared card. How the reset works: [daily golf puzzle](https://puttle.golf/daily). You can putt with a keyboard, turn down motion, hear play events in a screen-reader live region, and read the scorecard by shape as well as color. The park is still a visual canvas. Play at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). No account, no chat. ## Keyboard putting Touch and mouse still work. The slingshot is the same pull. This map is for a keyboard in play. 1. Press **←** or **→** to aim. Hold **Shift** for fine aim. 2. Press **↑** or **↓**, or **+** or **−**, to set power. 3. Press **1**, **2**, or **3** to snap SOFT · MED · HARD. 4. Press **Space** or **Enter** to putt. 5. Press **U** or **Z** to undo the last putt. 6. Press **V** to peek at the whole hole. Press **C** to open the scorecard. 7. Press **R** in Practice to restart this hole from the tee. 8. Press **Escape** to close How to, Stats, Board, Locker, or Results. Escape does not close the title. The full slingshot lesson, including drag-back aiming, lives on [How to play](https://puttle.golf/how-to). This page is the keyboard and motion map, not that lesson. ## Reduced motion If your system sets **prefers-reduced-motion: reduce**, PUTTLE sets reduced motion for the round. You get fewer particles. The extra ghost-gallery hold after a hole-out is skipped. CRT scanlines on the board drop. CSS animations run at about zero duration. The title screen still works. Physics and par do not change. ## Screen readers and dialogs The course canvas is `#game` with **role="img"** and a long aria-label that names the slingshot and the keyboard. `#srStatus` is a visually hidden **aria-live="polite"** region. Play events are announced there, including power snaps. How to, Stats, Board, Locker, and Results are **role="dialog"** panels with **aria-modal** and a label. Focus moves into the open panel. Interactive controls use a gold **:focus-visible** outline. ## Scorecard shapes The results glyph row pairs color with a shape so hue is not the only channel. Under par is **▾**. Over par is **▴**. An ace is **★**. Even par is **—**. ## Honest limits PUTTLE is a pixel-art park you still have to **see**. Rails, water, and the cup are drawn on a canvas. There is no chat and no account. Family sessions without a lobby are a different page: [kids and families](https://puttle.golf/family). Stroke math is unchanged: [PUTTLE scoring](https://puttle.golf/scoring). Every player on that local date gets the same layouts. The cup sits around a dogleg on purpose, so a dead-straight putt is not an ace. Play today’s map at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). Park **worlds** (carnival, coastal, royal, enchanted, tropical, treasure) change rails and toys. This page is the **silhouettes** — the hole shapes. Worlds: [PUTTLE worlds](https://puttle.golf/worlds). Obstacles: [PUTTLE hazards](https://puttle.golf/hazards). ## A five-hole tour From day 81 each daily is a walk through a mini-golf park, not five random doglegs. Hole 1 is an opener. Hole 2 is a cut. Hole 3 wanders. Hole 4 is a tight cup. Hole 5 is the signature. The HUD names the silhouette (ALLEY, NEEDLE, CLOVER, and the rest) while you putt. Par is a function of the fairway route. Toys, water, and world kits do not change the card. From day 97 each named hole is a whole-board stamp that matches its name. Days 1–96 keep the layouts they already had. From day 114 the leftover names (snake, zipper, arch, chute) play as those names; dogleg stays the 2-wide L. Practice can preview the current stamps. ## Openers - **Pad** — a short court and a visible bank into the cup. - **Alley** — a wide lane, then a choke onto the green. - **Elbow** — a 90° turn. The far rail is the line. - **Hook** — a wrap around an inner wall. Bank the inside corner. Not a straight pipe. ## Then a cut - **Chute** — a 1-wide squeeze into an offset receiving green. The speed strip is the chute’s toy. - **Dogleg** — a 2-wide classic L. Post and pad sit on the inside elbow. - **Lane** — twin pipes with a median, joined at the far end. ## The wander - **Snake** — three rooms on a 1-wide string. Sand sits in a belly. - **Switch** — two landings and a choke between them. - **Gallery** — a wide hall, then a neck onto the upper green. - **Zipper** — offset teeth joined by 1-wide jogs. Slopes sit in the rooms. ## The tight cup - **Keyhole** — a thin shaft into a putting court. - **Needle** — a long 1-cell run with a small bay at the cup. - **Island** — the cup sits on a green you reach by one bridge. Other sides are rough. - **Moat** — water wraps the cup green. One pool, a dry lane onto the island. ## The closer - **Arch** — a hollow U. Cup at the far pillar. The lintel is a miss. - **Stair** — cascading rooms. - **Corner** — a U of two rooms and a hall. - **Clover** — four lobes around a hub. Not a single pipe. ## How to read a map Hold empty space, tap PEEK, or press V. The red arrow is the cup. Banks are the puzzle. A post on a hook is a bumper you chose. Water on a moat is a trap around the cup, not a sealed ring. Strategy for banks and pace: [mini-golf strategy](https://puttle.golf/strategy). The physics framing: [golf puzzle game](https://puttle.golf/golf-puzzle). Controls: [How to play](https://puttle.golf/how-to). Stroke math: [PUTTLE scoring](https://puttle.golf/scoring). Par stays a function of the fairway. Play at [https://puttle.golf](https://puttle.golf/). Hole shapes: [PUTTLE maps](https://puttle.golf/maps). Which park you are in: [PUTTLE worlds](https://puttle.golf/worlds). Stroke rules: [PUTTLE scoring](https://puttle.golf/scoring). ## What costs a stroke **Water** — splash is **+1**, then you replay from where you last putted. At most one pool per hole. It hugs one rail so a dry lane stays open. It never sits on the tee or the cup. A moat silhouette wraps water around the cup green. You still have a dry lane onto the island. ## What changes the roll (not the score) - **Rails and posts** — the ball banks off them. Treasure **crates** are posts, not loot. Use the bounce. - **Sand** — grabs. Extra pace, or go around. Treasure and tropical add more. - **Ice** — glides. Plan the stop. Coastal kits add extra ice. - **Slopes** — pull downhill. Enchanted slopes bite harder. - **Speed strips** — pads that accelerate the ball the way their chevrons point. Ride them on purpose. - **Carnival bumpers** — pinball posts that add energy. Leave a lane around them. - **Mushroom pads** — enchanted trampolines. One pop per visit, score-neutral. ## Moving toys (never wait) From day 89 these travel on a **hole clock** — the same motion for everyone on that date. They hug one rail. A dry lane stays open the whole cycle. Bank them or leave the lane. Do not stand and wait. - **Windmills** — carnival vanes. - **Sliding gates** — royal marble slabs. - **Booms** — coastal arms that extend and retract from a rail post. - **Rolling logs** — tropical trunks that shuttle along a rail. - **Spore gates** — enchanted moss slabs that sweep. - **Rolling carts** — treasure crates on wheels. ## What never counts Optional **gems** (five per daily) do not change par or your score. Collect all five on one daily to unlock the Sapphire ball. The Director's Challenge and the week-long extra are score-neutral. Worlds, cosmetics, and seasonal themes do not change the card. ## How to play them Peek the whole hole before the hard shot. If the only heroic line crosses water, the safe bank is usually the card. A surprise bumper pop is how you find a pool. Pads and strips are launches you planned, not scenery. Controls: [How to play](https://puttle.golf/how-to).
