Install PUTTLE

PUTTLE is a free website, not an App Store or Google Play listing. Play at https://puttle.golf in any modern browser with WebGL 2. You can optionally install it as a progressive web app (PWA) so today's course opens in one tap from your home screen.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open https://puttle.golf in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button.
  3. Tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.

The PUTTLE icon appears on your home screen. It opens the same game, full screen, without the browser chrome.

Android

  1. Open https://puttle.golf in Chrome.
  2. Open the Chrome menu and tap Install app or Add to Home Screen, then confirm.

If Chrome shows an install banner, you can use that instead.

Computer

In Chrome, Edge, or other Chromium browsers, look for an install icon in the address bar, or use the browser menu's install / app command.

After you install

Installing does not create an account. Stats and streaks still live in the browser on that device, shared between PUTTLE and PUTTLE Classic. You can turn on the daily reminder (on the results card or in the menu) for one notification a day, around 9am your local time, and only on days you haven't played yet.

Reminders come as a web push from PUTTLE’s server, so they reach a closed PUTTLE in Chrome, Edge and Firefox (while the browser itself is running), in Safari on a Mac, on Android, and on an iPhone or iPad once PUTTLE is on the Home Screen. Two cases differ. A Safari tab on iPhone or iPad can’t show notifications at all: there the results card offers the three taps that put PUTTLE on the Home Screen instead. And where a browser’s push service is switched off — PUTTLE has seen this in Brave — the nudge only shows while PUTTLE is open, and the reminder’s hint says so; in Brave, turn on “Use Google services for push messaging” in its privacy settings, then switch the reminder off and on. Anywhere, 📅 Put it in my calendar adds a daily 9am calendar event instead, with no notification permission at all.

The daily course is generated on your device. After the first visit, the game and its 3D engine are cached, so it can load without a network; the global leaderboard still needs a connection.

Uninstall the same way you remove any other home-screen app or PWA. Clearing the site's data in the browser deletes local stats and streaks.
