What is PUTTLE?

PUTTLE is a free daily pixel-art mini-golf puzzle — like Wordle for golf — that you play in a web browser at puttle.golf. Each local calendar day has one 5-hole course, identical for every player, seeded by the date. There is no download and no account.

Is PUTTLE free?

PUTTLE is completely free to play, with no download and no account. Google AdSense may show ads. Optional one-time tips help keep it that way and do not unlock gameplay. Stats stay in your browser. Optional gems and the Sapphire ball are earned in play, not purchased.

Can I tip to keep PUTTLE free?

Yes. Tips are optional one-time payments through Stripe. They do not unlock holes, cosmetics, or scores — PUTTLE stays free either way. Choose $3, $5, $10, or another amount at https://puttle.golf/support. Tips are not tax-deductible donations.

Is PUTTLE like Wordle?

PUTTLE is a Wordle-style daily: one shared puzzle per day, then a spoiler-free scorecard you can share. The puzzle is mini-golf rather than letters — five pixel-art holes instead of a five-letter word. It is not a live multiplayer match.

Is PUTTLE a word game?

No. PUTTLE is slingshot putting on a shared 5-hole park. You do not type letters and there is no hidden word. Golf-themed Wordle clones still hide a five-letter word and score guesses like strokes. PUTTLE copies the daily ritual, not the mechanic. More: Wordle for golf.

Do all players get the same course?

Every player on a given local calendar date plays the same 5-hole PUTTLE course, seeded by the date. A new course appears at local midnight. Day #1 was June 1, 2026. From day 81 the round is a park-style tour with named silhouettes (dogleg, island, keyhole, and others) and rotating worlds that play differently (carnival bumpers and windmills, enchanted mushrooms and spore gates, coastal ice and booms, royal sliding gates, tropical logs, treasure carts, and more).

How do you play PUTTLE?

Drag back from the ball like a slingshot and release to putt; the aim line shows direction only. Pull farther for more power (the ring fills SOFT · MED · HARD), bank off rails and posts, and sink all five holes. On a keyboard: left/right arrows aim, up/down or +/− set power, 1 2 3 snap SOFT · MED · HARD, Space putts, C opens the scorecard, U undoes, V peeks. Undo takes back your last putt. First time? PLAY TODAY starts with a one-hole range.

What is par in PUTTLE?

Par is the target number of strokes for a hole and for the five-hole round. Under par is better, over par is extra strokes, and E means even — right on par. Optional gems do not change par or your score. Full rules: PUTTLE scoring.

Does water cost a stroke?

Hitting water in PUTTLE is a splash: you take +1 stroke and replay the putt from where you last putted. Sand slows the ball, ice makes it glide, sloped greens curve the roll, and amber speed strips accelerate it. Carnival bumpers pop the ball like pinball; enchanted mushroom pads launch it. From day 89, carnival windmills, royal sliding gates, coastal booms, tropical logs, enchanted spore gates, and treasure carts move on a hole clock — bank them or leave a lane; you never have to wait. Rails and posts are for bank shots.

What is the difference between Practice and the daily?

The daily is one official attempt at today’s shared course and can build a streak; Practice is unlimited extra rounds that do not affect your streak. Closing the tab mid-daily does not lose the round — a checkpoint keeps your place. First-timers who tap PLAY TODAY or PRACTICE get a one-hole range (a visible bank into the cup) before the daily or a practice round; it does not count as today’s card. Practice is for learning the slingshot with no pressure on the official card. After a practice round you can share a layout link so a friend can play the same unofficial holes — the link is the seed only, never your path.

What is the RANGE in PUTTLE?

The RANGE is a one-hole bank lesson. The first time you tap PLAY TODAY or PRACTICE, PUTTLE starts you on that hole before the daily or a practice round. It does not count as today's official card.

Do I need an account to play PUTTLE?

PUTTLE does not require an account. You play in the browser; local stats live on your device. The global leaderboard and friends groups are honor-system boards with optional public display names.

Does PUTTLE work on mobile?

PUTTLE runs in any modern mobile or desktop browser at puttle.golf and is installable as a PWA, including Add to Home Screen on many phones. Drag back from the ball with a finger the same way you would with a mouse.

When does the new PUTTLE course appear?

A new 5-hole PUTTLE course appears at local midnight, when your device’s calendar date changes. Until then, everyone on that local date is on the same course. Seasonal and holiday visual themes also follow the date.

Can I undo a putt, and do gems count?

Undo in PUTTLE takes back your last putt. Optional gems (5 per daily) do not change your score; collect all 5 on one daily to unlock the Sapphire ball.

What is a clean card in PUTTLE?

A clean card is a round with zero undos. Results and the share name it. Undo stays free and never adds a stroke. The badge is not a second leaderboard and not a penalty. Stroke math: PUTTLE scoring.

Is there a PUTTLE app?

PUTTLE is not listed on the App Store or Google Play. It is a free website at puttle.golf that you can install as a progressive web app (PWA) from the browser — Add to Home Screen on many phones — for one-tap daily rounds. See Install PUTTLE.

Is PUTTLE multiplayer?

PUTTLE is not live multiplayer. You play the daily 5-hole course on your own. Faint ghost balls of other players who posted their score can appear on today's green as decoration, not as a walkthrough. After you finish, compare on the honor-system leaderboard, in a friends group, or with a spoiler-free scorecard. Everyone on that local date plays the same course.

What are ghosts in PUTTLE?

On today's Daily, faint balls of other players who posted their score replay their strokes on the green. They are decorations, not hints — you still have to find the line yourself. Posted friends in a group tint a distinct color so you can spot them. After you hole out, one or two of those traces loop on that green for a couple of seconds as a gallery. After you finish the round, the recap map shows their traces under yours. Practice rounds never load ghosts, and posting to the honor-system board is what shares yours. See Privacy.

How long does a PUTTLE round take?

A PUTTLE round is five holes and typically takes a few minutes. There is no timer. You can pause; an in-progress daily is checkpointed if you close the tab.

Can I replay today's PUTTLE course?

The daily is one official attempt. After you finish, PUTTLE shows your scorecard rather than a second official round of today's course. Practice this course from the results screen to retry the same holes with no streak or board. Stats also shows a month of your cards — tap a past day to replay it unofficially. A friend's share link to a past day can be replayed; a link to today opens the live daily.

What happens if I miss a day of PUTTLE?

PUTTLE streaks count consecutive local calendar days. You start with a streak freeze: missing exactly one day spends a freeze instead of resetting the streak. Completing a week of streak re-grants a freeze, up to two banked. Missing two or more days without a freeze resets the streak.

What is the Director's Challenge in PUTTLE?

The Director's Challenge is an optional, score-neutral goal shown on the daily (for example finish under par, bank a putt, collect every gem, or a world extra like skirt the lagoon). A week-long extra on the title and in Stats (for example bank 3 putts this week) is also score-neutral. Clearing either never changes your stroke total, par, or leaderboard score.

Does PUTTLE work offline?

PUTTLE generates the daily course on your device. After you have opened the site once, the game can load without a network. The global leaderboard and friends groups need a connection.

Can I skip a hole in PUTTLE?

If a hole is taking too long, PUTTLE shows Pick up once you are two over par. It ends the hole as a double bogey — those strokes still count — then moves you on. It is not a walk-off eagle. Undo takes back only the last putt.

How do I share my PUTTLE score?

After a round you can share a spoiler-free emoji scorecard and a pixel-art image. Daily share links include the day number so a friend can play the same course. The scorecard does not show your aiming lines.

Can I open a scorecard during a PUTTLE round?

Yes. During a round, tap the SCORECARD control in the HUD or press C. The card lists holes you have finished versus par. Holes you have not reached stay hidden. On a wide desktop the card sits beside the green. It does not change strokes.

What devices and browsers does PUTTLE support?

PUTTLE runs in any modern mobile or desktop browser with JavaScript and HTML5 Canvas — including Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. Keyboard, mouse, and touch are supported. Reduced-motion preferences are respected.

Is there a Wordle for golf?

PUTTLE is a Wordle-style daily mini-golf puzzle at puttle.golf. Each local date has one 5-hole course, the same for every player. It is not affiliated with Wordle or the New York Times. NYT Wordle Golf is a nine-day tally of Wordle guess counts. PUTTLE is slingshot putting. More: Wordle for golf.

Can I play mini golf online for free?

Yes. PUTTLE is a free online mini-golf game in the browser at puttle.golf. There is no download, no account, and no paywall. Optional tips do not unlock holes.

Is PUTTLE on Steam, the App Store, or Google Play?

Is PUTTLE a golf simulator?

No. PUTTLE is pixel-art putt-putt, not a 3D golf sim. There are no clubs, swing meters, or 18-hole championship courses. You slingshot-putt on winding rails and try to beat par.

What is a bank shot in PUTTLE?

A bank shot is a putt that holes off a rail or post. It is a flourish, not a scoring bonus — the stroke count does not change. Many holes hide the cup around a dogleg, so banks are often the line.

Is PUTTLE good for kids?

PUTTLE is a short, free, family-friendly mini-golf puzzle with no chat, no account, and no timer. Undo takes back a miss. Younger players may want help reading banks and slopes. Practice mode does not affect the daily streak.

What games are like Wordle?

Wordle-likes are short daily puzzles everyone shares, then a spoiler-free scorecard. PUTTLE is the mini-golf version: five holes instead of five letters. It is not a word game. See games like Wordle.

Is PUTTLE the same as the Puttle putting mat?

No. PUTTLE at puttle.golf is a free daily pixel-art mini-golf puzzle in the browser. The Puttle putting mat is a separate physical home-practice kit with pins on a strip of turf. They are unrelated products that share a similar name.

Is PUTTLE a golf puzzle game?

How is today's PUTTLE course generated?

The daily 5-hole course is generated on your device from the local calendar date. There is no server-sent layout. Everyone on that date gets the same holes, the same par, and the same hazards. A new course appears at local midnight. Day #1 was June 1, 2026. How the reset works: daily golf puzzle.

How does the PUTTLE leaderboard work?

The BOARD is an honor-system ranking of stroke totals on today's shared course. You do not need an account. Display names are at most 16 characters. The server stores the official par for the day, so score-to-par is not something a client can fake. Optional friends groups use a shareable code (at most 50 players). Posted rounds can appear as faint ghost traces. What is stored: Privacy. Stroke math: PUTTLE scoring.

Is PUTTLE accessible?

PUTTLE can be played with a keyboard as well as a mouse or a finger. The course canvas has an accessible name, a live region announces strokes, and reduced-motion preferences cut camera flyovers, particles, and ghost motion. Dialogs trap focus and Escape dismisses them. There is no chat. The green is still a canvas, not a DOM list of rails. Full map: PUTTLE accessibility.

What are named park greens in PUTTLE?

From day 81 each hole has a named silhouette and the cup sits around a dogleg on purpose. From day 97 those names are whole-board shapes: a clover has four lobes, a needle is 1-wide, a moat wraps the cup. Worlds rotate the toys. Par stays a function of the fairway. Worlds: PUTTLE worlds.

Can PUTTLE remind me to play?

Yes, if you ask it to. Turn on Remind me daily after a round and PUTTLE shows one local notification a day, around 9am your local time — no evening streak warning and no countdown. Reminders are not sent through PUTTLE servers, so a fully closed PUTTLE can only wake itself on an installed Android or desktop Chromium app. In a browser tab, in Safari or Firefox, and on an iPhone home screen the nudge arrives only while PUTTLE is open, and the button says so on your device.
